This explains what HelpBlaster collects, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- If you sign up to work: your name, email, phone if you give one, city, state, ZIP if you give one, the kinds of work you will do, how far you will travel, your availability, how you want to be paid, and anything you type into the notes.
- If you post a job: your name, company if you give one, email, phone if you give one, the city and state of the work, and what you need done.
- Automatically: your IP address, used only to rate-limit the forms against spam.
Why we collect it
To match people to work near them and to contact you about it. Your city and state are turned into an approximate map location so we can tell who is close to a job. That location is the city you typed — not live tracking, and not your street address.
Text messages
If you check the box agreeing to texts, we may send you SMS about specific jobs near you — roughly 0 to 8 messages a month, only when there is work. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is optional and is not a condition of signing up or of getting work.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile opt-in data is sold, rented, or shared with anyone.
Who sees your information
We do not sell your information, and we do not share your contact details with other workers. When you accept a job, we share what the other side needs to meet you there — typically your first name and your phone number — and nothing more. Your email address is never shown to other workers.
We use service providers to run the site: Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Mapbox to turn a city name into an approximate location, Resend to send email, and an SMS carrier if you have agreed to texts. They process this data on our behalf and for nothing else.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it. Email us and we will remove your record.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
- Email us to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you.
- Unsubscribe links appear in the emails we send.
Children
HelpBlaster is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
